Cookware aluminum discs, also known as aluminum circles, are flat, circular metal plates made from aluminum alloys that serve as the base material for a wide variety of kitchen utensils such as pots, pans, and fryers. In terms of strength, aluminum alloy discs typically use high-strength alloys such as 3003 or 5052, with tensile strengths generally ranging from 130 to 210 MPa, which is sufficient to ensure durability in everyday use. Secondly, aluminum has a relatively low density, approximately 2.7 g/cm³, which is significantly lower than stainless steel (density of 7.8 g/cm³), making aluminum cookware lighter and easier to handle. In addition, aluminum discs have strong corrosion resistance, especially when alloyed with elements like magnesium and silicon, further enhancing their resistance to corrosion and oxidation, effectively extending the lifespan of the cookware. Meanwhile, aluminum possesses excellent thermal conductivity, with a thermal conductivity rate typically around 235 W/m·K, allowing for rapid and even heat distribution, helping to prevent localized heat buildup or uneven cooking.

Lightweight
Aluminum cookware discs have a density of approximately 2.7 g/cm³, which is significantly lower than materials like stainless steel, which has a density of 7.8 g/cm³. This lightweight nature makes aluminum cookware easier to handle and transport. For example, an aluminum frying pan with a diameter of 30 cm made from these discs can weigh as little as 900 grams, compared to a stainless steel pan of the same size, which may weigh over 1.8 kilograms.

 

Excellent Heat Conductivity
Aluminum discs exhibit excellent heat conductivity, with a thermal conductivity rate of around 235 W/m·K, compared to stainless steel's lower rate of approximately 16 W/m·K. This allows for faster heating and more even heat distribution across the entire surface of the cookware. For example, an aluminum pot can boil water in about 30% less time than a stainless steel pot of the same size, saving energy and preventing uneven cooking or burning in certain spots.

 

Corrosion Resistance
Aluminum discs, particularly when alloyed with magnesium and silicon, offer excellent corrosion resistance. The corrosion rate of 5052 aluminum alloy in a saline environment is less than 0.002 mm/year, which significantly extends the lifespan of the cookware. Additionally, in acidic environments, like when exposed to a pH of 3 (similar to vinegar or tomato-based sauces), the corrosion rate remains minimal, ensuring that the cookware maintains its integrity over time.
