Hot dip galvanized square tube:

The production process of hot-dip galvanized square pipes is relatively simple, with high production efficiency and a variety of specifications. This type of square pipe requires very little equipment and funds, making it suitable for the production of small galvanized square pipe manufacturers. However, in terms of strength, the strength of this type of steel pipe is far lower than that of seamless square pipes.

Cold galvanized square pipe:

And cold galvanized square pipes utilize the principle of cold galvanizing on the square pipes used to make them have anti-corrosion performance. Unlike hot dip galvanizing, cold dip galvanizing coatings mainly use electrochemical principles to prevent corrosion. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure sufficient contact between zinc powder and steel, resulting in electrode potential differences. Therefore, surface treatment of steel is very important.

Galvanized square pipes can be divided into two categories: hot-dip galvanized square pipes and electrogalvanized square pipes. Hot dip galvanized square pipes include wet method, dry method, lead zinc method, redox method, etc. The main difference between different hot-dip galvanizing methods lies in the method used to activate the surface of the steel pipe and improve the quality of galvanizing after acid pickling cleaning. Currently, dry and redox methods are mainly used in production, and their characteristics are shown in the table. The surface of the zinc layer of electrogalvanizing is very smooth, dense, and the structure is uniform; Having good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance; Zinc consumption is 60% to 75% lower than that of hot-dip galvanizing. Electrogalvanizing has a certain degree of technical complexity, but this method must be used for single-sided coatings, double-sided coatings with different thicknesses on the inner and outer surfaces, and thin-walled pipe galvanizing.

Galvanizing has a stronger protective effect and strong corrosion resistance. The entire structure is composed of zinc, forming a dense quaternary crystal, which forms a barrier on the steel plate, effectively preventing corrosion factors from penetrating. The corrosion resistance comes from the strong protective function of the barrier layer of zinc. When zinc is used as sacrificial protection in areas such as cuts, scratches, and coating scratches, it forms an insoluble oxide layer that serves as a barrier protection function.

Due to the galvanized treatment on square pipes, the application range of galvanized square pipes has been greatly expanded compared to square pipes.
