How To Ensure Safety When Transporting Steel Coils?

Sep 01, 2023

1. Add thick wooden boards or straw mats to the bottom of the steel coil to increase the friction between the steel coil and the carriage to minimize the displacement of the steel coil.
2. When setting up a triangular wood or corrugated board that can act as a barrier, the height difference should be as large as possible so that it can act as a barrier when the steel coil slides.
3. The steel coil is fixed by a wire rope. Be careful not to use ordinary ropes. It is better to use a hand hoist to tighten it, which can achieve a better effect than manual tightening. After bundling, you must check it several times and be careful not to make any mistakes.
4. The driving speed should not be too fast, and the attention should be highly concentrated. Defensive braking is mostly used, and emergency braking should be avoided as much as possible, let alone sharp turns. When you stop to rest, pay attention to check whether the triangular wood, corrugated board, and steel wire rope are loose. If you find any looseness, pull it immediately.
5. Do not overload or fatigue driving. It was due to the overloading of the semi-trailer that it pulled six steel coils. In addition, do not drive while fatigued. There are even higher requirements for transportation timeliness. Safety is the first priority and do not put the cart before the horse.
